Jake Leg Stompers Web | Brandon Armstrong |
![]() |
Brandon's musical background is rooted in classical guitar, marching band,
Baptist hymns, and jazz. Though raised in the hills of East Tennessee, his first indulgence in rowdy folk music actually came in the form of spirited freilachs, bulgars, and hora dances of Eastern European klezmer.
Half-way through college, Brandon fled zu Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, where he spieled marsches, polkas, und bier ballads mit der Germersheimer Stadtkapelle fuer nearly ein Jahr. He eventually returned to America, though, in search of a group that (a) spoke a dialect more decipherable than Pfaelzisch, and (b) would let him play tuba. The Stompers were a perfect fit. |

Brandon's musical weapons of choice primarily include bass, tuba, trombone, banjo, and kazoo, though he's also an aspiring juggist and novice juggler. His future plans include early retirement as a bathtub gin bootlegger and multi-instrumentalist in a European cabaret pit orchestra. | |
